Measles Vaccination Clinics

When:

Measles is highly contagious and spreads through airborne transmission and close contact. Being vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself, your family, and the community from measles.  Two doses of the MMR vaccine is almost 100 per cent effective at preventing measles infection.

The clinic will be held at the Western Valley Multiplex at 698 Central St in Centreville from 10:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Friday Nov. 1 and from 9:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, Nov 2.

Walk-in appointments will be available, but you are encouraged tobook your MRR vaccine online or by calling 1-833-437-1424.

Who can receive a vaccine:

  • Adults born in 1970 or later who have not previously received two doses of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine
  • Children 6 to 11 months who are travelling outside of Canada
  • Children and adolescents who have not received two doses of MMR vaccine after turning 12 months of age

Those who are unsure of their vaccination status, or that of their children, are urged to discuss this with their health-care provider.

If you suspect you may have been exposed to measles or are experiencing symptoms, call your primary care provider or Tele-Care 811 for further direction.

To mitigate the risk of transmission, please do not present to the Emergency department if you suspect you may have measles and are experiencing non-urgent symptoms.
