Where can I get glasses?

eye safety is important! The ONLY time you can take your eclipse glasses off is during totality or when you are NOT looking up at the moon/sun from 3:15 pm until 5:41 pm or so .. but the desire to look up is strong because there is something different and amazing happening so your will to look is going to be higher than a normal day (if the weather is good).

If you are in an area where there is a partial eclipse, you cannot remove your glasses at any point during the eclipse if you are watching it. Why? Solar radiation wavelengths cause retinal damage even without knowing it. Optometrists would equate this with a chemical-type injury. This damage can be permanent or long-term. A person would not notice the damage until 12-24 hours after. Statistically the most at risk are TEENAGE MALES 15+ as they don’t’ think they are cool or needed.

  • Must be a resident of Woodstock (Wards 1, 2, 3, 4,or 5) Please have proof of resident with you.
