The Woodstock Sports Wall of Fame is a shrine to hometown heroes. Located in the lounge of the Carleton Civic Centre, the wall is a lasting tribute to those teams, individuals and builders who have made major contributions to the development and advancement of sports in the Shiretown.
In 1994, Dawn Lockwood, a town councillor, challenged Mayor and Council to create a special Wall of Honour to remember and honour the shining achievements of the many exceptional individuals in their chosen fields. Her claim was if the community can not honour its own, where else can fine athletes go for recognition.

The Town's support was overwhelming and the Woodstock Sports Wall of Fame was born and delivered its first two inductees on May 13, 1995; the great Marjorite (Puss) Lindsey and William (Bill) Reardon. The Woodstock Sports Wall of Fame is governed by a volunteer board whose task is to choose the recipients from submissions submitted by Woodstock citizens.
