After School Boxing Program: A 5-week program every Tuesday and Thursday 3:30-4:30pm, in the Fitness Room off of the Field House. For youth in grades 6 to 9 that attend the Youth Zone after school program. Due to sponsorship, this program is FREE! This program will teach youth the basic boxing skills and techniques to help increase strength and improve endurance. Boxing helps improve self-confidence while keeping them physically fit.

 Snowshoe Poker Rally: Join us at the Woodstock Golf & Curling Club on Saturday the 2nd. Doors open at 8pm. Participants snowshoe to marked locations around the golf course and will be given a hand of cards on their return. Highest hand wins a pair of snowshoes, donated by Canadian Tire-Woodstock.  Live entertainment with Ronny Michaud starts at 9:30pm.  Cost: $10. Must be 19+. Bring your snowshoes. Glow Swim:  Saturday the 9th, 6:30-8:00pm.  We turn out the lights and light up the pool with glow buoys.  Great family event.  Everyone will be given a glow bracelet. Admission is $5.

An Evening of Hearts and Spades – Woodstock Rotary Event: This is the annual cash draw, dance & casino event. Live entertainment by Mid Life Crisis begins at 10pm. The casino opens at 7:30pm and $2000 in casino prizes up for grabs and the $15,000 cash draw.

Valentine’s Day Dance Party:  Friday the 15th, 5:30-7:30 pm at AYR Motor Centre Gallery Room. This event is for those intellectually & physically challenged adults. DJ John Allen entertaining; Refreshments will be provided. This is a FREE event!

Western Valley 50+ Bowling:  The Western Valley Recreation Association invites all those 50+ living in the river valley area to a fun bowling opportunity. Join us at the Woodstock Bowlacade on Thursday the 21st 10am – Noon. Cost is $5 which includes bowling, shoes and light refreshments.  Get out and be active and socialize with friends. Everyone is welcome!

Moonshine & Moonlight Snowshoe – Wednesday the 20th  and Friday the 22nd  6:00 - 10:00pm . Join us for an evening of snowshoeing under a moonlit sky and warm up to samples of a great tasting moonshine. The group will be transported in the community van to a wooded trail outside of town. After a refreshing trek through the woods we’ll head back to the Moonshine Creek Distillery where everyone will be treated to a tour and a variety of samples of unique tasting drinks. Family Night Sliding Party – Saturday the 23rd 6:00-8:00pm.  Enjoy one of the best Canadian past-times with family…and it’s free!  We’ll be lighting up the Golf Club hill and serving up hot chocolate and hot dogs, provided by Sobeys Woodstock.  A giant bonfire will keep you warm in between rides down the hill. The Woodstock Volunteer Firemen and our sponsor, Manulife Securities help make this event happen.

Moonlight Snowshoe & Fondue: Monday the 25th   6:00 - 9:00 pm. Embrace the long winter days with a true Canadian activity. We’ll be transporting participants to a local trail to enjoy being active outside. The community van will depart from the AMC at 6:00pm and will return at 8:00pm to sample some fondue treats provided by our very own 2nd Home Grill & Café. Cash Bar available. Register early as spots are limited. Cost: $10/youth; $15/adult. *Snowshoes available upon request.

Snowshoe Tours with Meduxnekeag Nature Preserve:  Thursday the 28th, 9am-1pm. Nothing gets the body moving like a refreshing snowshoe in the crisp fresh air. We will depart at 9:00am to transport participants to explore our local trails.  A guided tour will be provided through the Meduxnekeag Valley Nature Preserve.  We’ll return to the AMC Sam’s Room where a delicious lunch will be served, prepared by our 2nd Home Grill & Café. Limited spots.  Cost: $15.


Day Adventure-Ice-Fishing: Monday March 4th. Youth ages 6+ |Cost $85.This includes Transportation and Lunch. Departure from AYR Motor Centre at 8:15, returning approx. 3-3:30 pm. 5 spots only.. first come first serve. Register by calling the AYR Motor Centre today 325-4671. Tube Sliding:  We’ll be transporting participants on Monday, March 4th to the E&P Senechal Center in Grand Falls to enjoy a day of Tubing.  Spots are limited so register early. Helmets are mandatory. $5/helmet rental. Time of depart 11am-5:30pm.  Cost: $25/under 16; $30/16+.

Day Adventure-Kids Who Care:  Tuesday, March 5th, 8:30am-5:00pm.  For youth ages 11-13 who are interested in becoming more involved in their community. The camp will explore local opportunities for volunteerism and community involvement. Gives youth the opportunity to learn how important volunteers are to the community, and helps them get acquainted with local volunteer organizations. Must register in advance as there is limited spots.  Cost: $25

4-On-4 Slush Cup: Tuesday, March 5th and Wednesday, March 6th 9am-5pm. Min. 3-4 games/day. No goalies. Pond hockey nets. Up to 5 players on a team. Divisions: 8-10,11-12,13-14. $100/person, includes 4-on-4 games, off-ice activities, snacks and lunch. Helmets are mandatory. Must register in advance. Payment must be made at time of registration. 9am-5pm each day.

Skiing/Snowboarding at Crabbe Mountain: Thursday, March 7th for ages 9-15 yrs.  We’re hitting the hill at Crabbe Mountain. Youth will enjoy a fun-filled day of skiing or snowboarding. A lesson is mandatory if a participant has never been on skis or a snowboard previously. Helmets are mandatory at Crabbe Mountain. Cost: $35-lift ticket, $50-equip rental & lift ticket. *Lesson available at no extra cost but must be requested at the time of registration. Transportation is included. Fun Box Program:  5-weeks of Sunday classes begin on Sunday, March 10th 4-5pm in the Fitness Room off of the Field House. Registration is now open. This youth boxing program is designed for kids 7-10 years, that incorporates a variety of coordination drills, strength-development exercise and mobility movements to help develop future athletes. Along with the technical components of boxing our program teaches youth discipline, commitment and builds confidence all within a fun and supportive atmosphere.  Cost: $40/participant…limited spots. Creative Minds Studio for Young Artists:  Mark making & Collage. We will be using several new techniques to create some fun textures and unique marks on paper. Students can experiment with colour mixing, patterns and textures. They will then be turning these textured papers into fun creatures. This is a great session for students to develop their problem solving skills and think outside the box.

Dates: Sun, March 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st. Time: 1:30-3:30pm or 4-6pm.  Cost: $100 all quality supplies included.

Young Chefs Cooking Class:  A 5-week program. Registration for our next session is open. Youth ages 10yrs+: Mondays starting Mar 11th 3:30-5pm. Youth ages 5-9yrs: Thursdays starting Mar 14th 3:30-5:00pm.Participants will be taught the basic skills of preparing simple family meals, after-school snacks, and baking.  Other topics that will be covered are kitchen safety, food handling, and etiquette.  Emphasis will be put on creating more healthy choices so that participants are instilled with healthy habits that will last a lifetime. Cost: $60/session.  Must register in advance…spots are limited.
